Student Expectations<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In the Mentorship EDGE program, you will connect with a mentor and meet with them each quarter for a year. You may also occasionally be able communicate with your mentor via email (or other preferred methods) if you have questions between meetings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In order to foster a more meaningful mentoring experience, strive to:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \n
  1. Connect remotely or in-person with your mentor at least once per quarter for the coming year.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Attend the annual summer quarter Mentorship EDGE networking event.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Steps before you first meet your mentor:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

      \n
    1. Update your resume (for help, visit Career Services<\/a>)<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    2. Update your LinkedIn profile<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    3. Write a brief elevator pitch about yourself and your goals<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

      When engaging your mentor:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

        \n
      • Think of, and create, clear goals<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Prepare thoughtful questions in advance of meetings<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Proactively request assistance from your mentor<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Send a thank you note after meetings<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
