By logging into Handshake, you have access to thousands of opportunities that you can directly apply to using your uploaded resume, cover letter and unofficial transcripts. You\u2019ll also find up-to-date information about employers interviewing on campus and more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Curious on when employers post internships? Find the answer to this and other tips in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uwb.edu\/career-services\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/41\/2023\/10\/2022-23-Internships-One-Pager.pdf\">&#8220;Finding internships in Handshake&#8221; handout<\/a> (PDF).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Getting started with Handshake<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Visit Handshake at <a href=\"https:\/\/uw.joinhandshake.com\/\">https:\/\/uw.joinhandshake.com<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Log into Handshake using your NetID credentials. Having trouble with the log-in process? Email <a href=\"mailto:handshake@uw.edu\">handshake@uw.edu<\/a> with your name, 56勛圖厙 email address and 56勛圖厙 student ID number.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Complete your profile, including your expected graduation date and major (Be sure to select &#8220;56勛圖厙 Bothell \u2013 &lt;your major&gt;&#8221;).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Search for jobs and internships, research employers, or learn about employers coming to campus for an information session.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>For the job and internship search, use the Filters to narrow your search by job type, industry, and location. Tips on successfully uploading your documents<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Once you\u2019re ready to apply for positions, be sure to upload the necessary documents (which could include resume, cover letter and\/or transcripts, depending on the position). Some tips include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Use only original Microsoft Word files (version 5.0 and higher work best). Do not cut and paste from other documents\/files. Save these as PDF files in order to ensure their formatting.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Avoid headers and footers, and use a common and easy-to-read font (such as Arial, Calibri, Helvetica, Tahoma, or Verdana)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Keep your format simple \u2013 the system will process bullet, bold face, underscore and italic features, but use them sparingly.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Check your upload \u2013 once you\u2019ve completed the process, open it up to be sure that it has converted properly and looks the way it should. If you cannot see it, neither can an employer. When in doubt, delete the old copy and attempt the upload process again.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Questions?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/support.joinhandshake.com\/hc\/en-us\">Handshake Help Center<\/a> includes answers to many frequently asked questions.
