Dr. Joey Shapiro Key, associate professor of physics and an advocate for student research, has been named the inaugural recipient of the Sr. Chief Ronald G. Gamboa Endowed 56³Ô¹ÏÍø Bothell STEM Faculty Fellowship. The award, created by alumna Michelle Gamboa in honor of her father, recognizes faculty who mentor undergraduates and inspire the next generation of scientists. With support from the fellowship, Key will expand the reach of 56³Ô¹ÏÍø Bothell’s STEM Public Outreach Team — helping more students engage in hands-on science communication and research.
