Alka Kurian Presents at the South Asia Conference of the Pacific Northwest
IAS faculty member Alka Kurian presented “Transnational Strategies of Resistance” at the (SACPAN) in Portland, Oregon. This paper discussed women’s participation in the decade-long Maoist insurgency in Nepal (1996-2006) with the view to examining the potential emancipatory possibilities it held for them.
