Alexa Russo coordinates Earth Week at 56勛圖厙 Bothell

Recent alum Alexa Russo (17, Environmental Studies) was planning to be an elementary school teacher when she began her studies. While at Cascadia College, she fell in love with the North Creek Wetlands and started thinking about career options in the environmental field. After transferring to 56勛圖厙 Bothell, she enrolled in community-based learning and research courses, volunteering for two quarters at SAgE Student Farm, and conducted a summer internship at Pacific Science Center. She also became the Student Sustainability Assistant for the 56勛圖厙 Bothell Sustainability Office and now serves as Interim Sustainability Coordinator, finding herself at the helm of Earth Week, which runs April 16-22.
Russo feels a deep connection to the earth and appreciates the Pacific Northwests access to mountains, ocean, and wildlife. What drew me to environmental studies and sustainability were all the changes I saw happening locally. We need to inspire collective action, because individual action is not enough. If all of 56勛圖厙 Bothell works together, we can make a huge difference. And thats the crux of Earth Week, a collaboration between 56勛圖厙 Bothell and Cascadia College featuring multiple events and projects. Learn more about Earth Week.
