Kristy Leissle hosts a series of events for new book, Cocoa

IAS faculty member Kristy Leissle hosted a series of events for her new book, Cocoa (Cambridge: Polity, 2018), which explores geopolitics and personal politics in the global cocoa and chocolate industries. Leissle's US book launch was held at the University Bookstore in Seattle on March 7, and other events followed with scholars, industry participants, and chocolate enthusiasts in Portland, OR (Powell's Bookstore); San Francisco, CA (Omnivore Books on Food); Palo Alto, CA (The Chocolate Garage); Atlanta, GA (A Cappella Books); Roswell, GA (CocoaTown); Boston (Taza Chocolate); and Brooklyn (Word Bookstore). Leissle recently discussed Cocoa with Megan Thompson on ; Julie Rose for , BYU Radio; James Field, for the Geographical Society "" column; and Emily Olsen, for . Cocoa has received positive reviews in the and magazine, and helped to to think differently about his work, as he wrote on Investing.com.
