Alka Kurian speaks on feminism and conducts interview with feminist icon in Morocco
IAS faculty member Alka Kurian, currently on a Fulbright research trip to Morocco, gave a talk entitled “A New Protest Culture: Rise of Fourth Wave Feminism in Morocco” at the Al Akhwayn University, Ifrane.
Kurian also attended the play Le Masque in Rabat. This play is written and directed by , Morocco's militant feminist and founder of the Th矇璽tre Aquarium. Kurian then interviewed Zitan about her 2012 play , which was inspired by Eve Ensler's Vagina Monologues and was the first to challenge the taboo of female sexuality in Morocco.
