Carrie Newman wins orientation award

One of the first people to greet new students at the 56Թ is Carrie Newman.

As the advising and orientation program manager, she plays a big role at the 56Թ Bothell Office of Orientation and Transition Programs in welcoming first-year and transfer students to campus.

Now her work has been recognized by the . She was awarded the 2017 Region 1 Outstanding Orientation, Transition & Retention Professional Award at a conference last month in Corvallis, Oregon.

Newman, who has worked at 56Թ Bothell since June 2015, is noted for innovative online orientation programs and her work with first-year mentorship, advising and orientations for students and parents.
