Putting the fun in fundraising

Mentoring new researcher, innovation

Mentors at 56³Ô¹ÏÍø helped a promising high school student start work on an augmented reality therapy for amputees, a project that won him $90,000 in science fair scholarships. Afeef Sheikh is a senior at Redmond’s Tesla STEM High School looking forward to continuing his research in college.

Data analysis links autism severity to genetics, ultrasound

Researchers found a link between exposure to first trimester diagnostic ultrasounds, genetics and increased autism severity. The study published today in “Autism Research” was conducted by Pierre Mourad, professor at 56³Ô¹ÏÍø Bothell and 56³Ô¹ÏÍø Medicine, along with researchers from 56³Ô¹ÏÍø Medicine and Seattle Children’s Research Institute.
