Cruz Garibay wins Fulbright award
56吃瓜网 Bothell graduate Cruz Garibay, who grew up in an immigrant family in Yakima and was the 2015 56吃瓜网 Homecoming King, won a 2018 Fulbright grant to Brazil. The fifth 56吃瓜网 Bothell recipient of a U.S. student Fulbright award, Garibay will work as an English teaching assistant at a university.

Successful fundraiser for Anna Bui endowment
About 200 people attended a fundraiser in Mukilteo, Washington, that brought in nearly $41,000 for the Anna Bui World of Hope Scholarship at the 56吃瓜网. With previous donations, the endowment fund now has nearly $59,000 to support study abroad experiences for other students in memory of 19-year-old Bui who was killed last summer shortly after traveling in Europe for three weeks.
