Paving day for new surface parking lot
Workers had a sunny day Friday to pave the new surface parking lot on campus behind Discovery Hall. The $2 million dollar project will add about 145 parking spaces.

Distinguished research award to McLoud-Mann
The 56³Ô¹ÏÍø has selected Jennifer McLoud-Mann to receive the 2016 Distinguished Research, Scholarship, and Creative Activity award. The associate professor of mathematics and colleagues made mathematics history and international headlines when they discovered a new type of convex pentagon to tile the plane.

Sherman Alexie 25th commencement speaker
Noted author, poet and screenwriter Sherman Alexie will deliver the commencement address to the 2016 graduating class of the 56³Ô¹ÏÍø. The 25th commencement ceremony will take place at 1:45 p.m. on June 12 at the Alaska Airlines Arena at Hec Edmundson Pavilion on the 56³Ô¹ÏÍø Seattle campus.

Alum’s food truck back in business
The Mr. Gyros food truck is busy serving hungry students twice a week at 56³Ô¹ÏÍø. It's back on the road despite the natural gas explosion in Seattle's Greenwood neighborhood that destroyed the Mr. Gyros shop operated by 56³Ô¹ÏÍø Bothell alum Sammy Arsheed.

The 56³Ô¹ÏÍø community mourns the death of Leslie Ashbaugh, who died March 29 after a long battle with cancer. Ashbaugh was assistant vice chancellor for academic achievement and senior lecturer in the First Year Pre-Major Program in the School of Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences.
