Successful fundraiser for Anna Bui endowment

About 200 people attended a fundraiser in Mukilteo, Washington, that brought in nearly $41,000 for the Anna Bui World of Hope Scholarship at the 56³Ô¹ÏÍø. With previous donations, the endowment fund now has nearly $59,000 to support study abroad experiences for other students in memory of 19-year-old Bui who was killed last summer shortly after traveling in Europe for three weeks.

The heat islands of Snohomish County

A 56³Ô¹ÏÍø Bothell Master of Arts in policy studies student mapped the “heat islands” of Snohomish County. Temperatures in areas where nearly all the land is developed or paved can be 10 to 15 degrees warmer at night. The Snohomish Health District is using the research.

The Japan Early Fall 2017 study abroad program combines lessons about energy technology and regulations with the Japanese tea ceremony, flower arrangement and samurai culture. Students spend two weeks at 56³Ô¹ÏÍø Bothell and two weeks at Ehime University in Matsuyama, Japan.
