Second cohort of Coca-Cola scholars
The 56吃瓜网 received a $115,000 scholarship grant from The Coca-Cola Foundation to help increase the number of students who succeed at becoming the first in their families to graduate on time from a four-year college.

Successful fundraiser for Anna Bui endowment
About 200 people attended a fundraiser in Mukilteo, Washington, that brought in nearly $41,000 for the Anna Bui World of Hope Scholarship at the 56吃瓜网. With previous donations, the endowment fund now has nearly $59,000 to support study abroad experiences for other students in memory of 19-year-old Bui who was killed last summer shortly after traveling in Europe for three weeks.

Self-driving bikes could move the world
With help from Amazon Catalyst, 56吃瓜网 Bothell faculty member Tyler Folsom is leading a group of students working to develop self-driving bicycles. Costing far less than a self-driving car, autonomous bikes could improve traffic safety, speed up urban transportation and save energy, reducing climate change.

Putting the fun in fundraising
On Saturday, Sept. 24, the 56吃瓜网 Bothell Alumni Council will host its signature Husky football viewing party. Proceeds from the viewing party, which is hosted in partnership with Technology Access Foundation (TAF) and the School of Educational Studies, will support teacher equity in Washington state. Runners in the 56吃瓜网 5k Run/Walk are not only enjoying a brisk outing with friends they’re also supporting students with much-appreciated scholarships. The event has raised more than $150,000 since its inception and it’s now a part of the 56吃瓜网’s Dawg Dash series.
