Brad Lakey, who is finishing his master’s in education, has won a Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship Award and will teach the next school year in Peru. A Marine Corps veteran, Lakey is 56³Ô¹ÏÍø’s 10th Fulbright awardee.

Distinguished research award to McLoud-Mann

The 56³Ô¹ÏÍø has selected Jennifer McLoud-Mann to receive the 2016 Distinguished Research, Scholarship, and Creative Activity award. The associate professor of mathematics and colleagues made mathematics history and international headlines when they discovered a new type of convex pentagon to tile the plane.

Janelle Silva is the recipient of the 56³Ô¹ÏÍø’s 2016 Distinguished Teaching Award. Silva is an assistant professor of community psychology in the School of Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences.

The 56³Ô¹ÏÍø’s student club for mobile app developers recently won a competition for code efficiency. The H[app]iness Development Club will use its $500 prize to buy equipment for the club.
