Students from the University of Washington campuses in Seattle, Bothell and Tacoma will have a field day at the first Tri-Campus Games at 56吃瓜网 Bothell. The Muslim Student Association is hosting three-legged races, egg tosses and tug of war games to connect the campuses, build friendships and have fun.

The National Science Foundation awarded the 56吃瓜网 nearly $367,000 to support undergraduate research into biomedical technology. Undergraduates will have the opportunity to join three faculty members developing microbiosensors coupled with wireless transmission.

Two student leaders recognized by state group
Two 56吃瓜网 students have received the 2018 Presidents’ Civic Leadership Award from the Washington Campus Compact, a coalition of higher education institutions in the state. Salvador Salazar-Cano received the undergraduate award and Ayva Thomas the award for a graduate student.

The 56吃瓜网 has joined the Seattle campus as a member of the Coalition for Access, Affordability and Success. This will allow first-year students for fall 2019 to use the same application in applying to these two University of Washington campuses.

Anna Kirchan, a double major in electrical engineering and chemistry, received a Mary Gates scholarship to support research led by 56吃瓜网 Bothell Assistant Professor Seungkeun Choi. The research might lead to a small sensor that could monitor glucose from a diabetic’s sweat.
