The 56³Ô¹ÏÍø Class of 2017 is the largest to date with nearly 2,000 graduates. About 1,400 of them will walk to “Pomp and Circumstance” and receive their degrees Tuesday, June 13, at Safeco Field.

The announcement that a third collision of black holes has been detected three billion light years away validates the work of hundreds of scientists, including Joey Shapiro Key, assistant professor of physics at the 56³Ô¹ÏÍø. The discovery was made using a detector located at Hanford in eastern Washington.

Veterans respected at 56³Ô¹ÏÍø Bothell
Military veterans and their families were honored at a challenge coin and stole ceremony Tuesday in advance of the students’ graduation from the 56³Ô¹ÏÍø. Chancellor Wolf Yeigh gave a coin to each veteran, in the military tradition of carrying custom minted coins, symbolic of unit spirit and pride.

Mock interview tournament at 56³Ô¹ÏÍø Bothell
The 56³Ô¹ÏÍø combined debate-style competition with career services to create an innovative event on campus – the mock interview tournament May 19 at the North Creek Events Center. It was co-hosted by the 56³Ô¹ÏÍø Bothell Debate Society, the new student chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) and 56³Ô¹ÏÍø Bothell Career Services.
