EVCAA Leadership Council

Charter

Within the context of 56³Ô¹ÏÍø Bothell’s vision, mission, values, and strategic plan, the Executive Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs’ Leadership Council (EVCLC) provides significant advice and recommendations to the EVCAA on core academic matters that cut across schools and other academic units. Core academic matters include academic policy and initiatives, curricular and co-curricular activities across the entirety of the undergraduate and graduate experience, and faculty and academic staff development.

  • Build a shared understanding of what’s happening at 56³Ô¹ÏÍø Bothell and across the tri-campus community
  • Provide peer support, understanding and brainstorming on opportunities and challenges facing the schools and academic units
  • Provide advice and recommendations to the EVCAA on core academic matters from all organizational levels within 56³Ô¹ÏÍø Bothell
  • Develop a consistent approach across the schools and academic units to address campus-wide issues and initiatives

EVCLC is comprised of the EVCAA, the Deans of the five 56³Ô¹ÏÍø Bothell schools, the Associate Vice Chancellor and Dean for Student Success, the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Faculty Success, the Executive Director for the Office of Connected Learning, the Associate Dean of University Libraries of the 56³Ô¹ÏÍøB/CC Library, and the Director of Finance and Academic Operations. These leaders are responsible for the various academic units at the 56³Ô¹ÏÍø.

  • EVCLC is chaired by the EVCAA
  • If a Dean is unable to serve on EVCLC on an ongoing basis during the year, with the EVCAA’s approval, that School’s Associate Dean or equivalent will assume the role on EVCLC
  • At the beginning of the academic year, EVCLC will inform the campus of the group’s priorities for the year
  • Members of EVCLC serve on key campus-wide committees where academic leadership is important
  • Staff support for EVCLC is provided through the Office of the EVCAA (e.g. website support, scheduling)
  • Meetings (2 hours in length) are held three times per month during the academic year (October through June) and less frequently during the summer term. EVCLC may also engage in additional meetings and retreats as needed
  • Those interested in being part of the formal agenda for a EVCLC meeting should contact the EVCAA’s executive assistant for a request form that will allow optimal scheduling and preparation for the type of engagement expected
