Graduation Checklist

Are you ready for graduation?

Navigating graduation and Commencement is easy!

  1. Apply for graduation
    • Make sure you are eligible and apply for graduation.
    • Students must connect with their academic advisor in order to submit their graduation application before the deadlines indicated for each quarter.
    • Please note that the graduation application and the Commencement registration are two separate actions.
  2. Prepare to register for the Commencement ceremony and order regalia.
    • Review cap and gown information.
    • Check with family and friends to determine ticket needs.
    • Determine if any guests need disability accommodations.
    • Join us at the Graduation Kick Off Event on April 7 and 8 (11am-4pm) in the ARC to get any questions answered.
  3. Complete the Commencement registration/order form between April 28 – May 18.
    • Register to participate in Commencement between April 28 – May 18.
    • Record your name pronunciation by May 18. An email with more information will be sent out shortly after registration.
    • Verify your preferred name for the Commencement program. An email with more information will be sent out shortly after registration.
    • Students who want to invite their family members or friends from outside United States should review this helpful information on 56³Ô¹ÏÍø Bothell’s International Student Services website. Please contact ISS at uwbintl@uw.edu for further questions about the basic procedures.
    • Join and / or support the Senior Class Gift.
  4. Attend Grad Fair on May 20-22.
    • Between May 20-22, stop by Grad Fair to pick up your Commencement apparel and guest tickets.
    • Grad Fair will open from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. on May 20 and May 21. It will be open from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. on May 22.
    • If you have not registered by May 18, you may register at Grad Fair, but a $20 late registration fee will apply.
  5. Come to Alaska Airlines Arena on Sunday, June 15!
    • Review the student instructions and itinerary and the ceremony conduct agreement.
    • Start your day early, as traffic will be heavy. Graduation is one event where it’s not fashionable to be late! The procession begins promptly.
    • The ceremonies will be approximately two hours long. Please plan post-ceremony activities accordingly.
