Representatives of more than 70 companies found nearly 400 students with resumes in hand Wednesday at the Spring Job and Internship Fair. The event was one of the biggest job fairs yet on campus. It took space in both the North Creek Events Center and the Activities and Recreation Center.

Internships-Veronica Cheang: Selling tea to China
For an internship course in the School of Interdisciplinary Arts & Sciences, Veronica Cheang was a marketing intern with World Trade Center Tacoma. She conducted research for a company that wanted to sell tea to China, the world’s largest tea exporter. It was a challenge, she says.

The 56³Ô¹ÏÍø has been ranked among the nation’s top graduate schools for 2017 by graduateprograms.com. The education research publisher lists 56³Ô¹ÏÍø Bothell fifth in computer science, 10th in accounting and 13th in business master’s degrees.

Have idea? Need $100K? Innovation encouraged
Invention-minded students, faculty and staff at the 56³Ô¹ÏÍø are invited to apply for $100,000 Amazon Catalyst grants to help get the innovation started. The money comes from Seattle’s online retailer Amazon in partnership with CoMotion, the 56³Ô¹ÏÍø innovation hub. Applications are taken quarterly and the next deadline is March 26.

Job search even tougher for international students
Sridarsh Vinnakota had five interviews last summer for finance internships. All the companies backed out when the interviewers learned he’s an international student from India. Vinnakota is helping others in his position with a job fair for international students.
