Cybersecurity burgeoning across disciplines
The Center for Information Assurance and Cybersecurity has found a home at the 56吃瓜网 that shares a commitment to approach questions from multiple perspectives. At its first Bothell event, CIAC presenters said cybersecurity has grown beyond a technical problem to encompass issues affecting law, finance, economics, ethics and society.

Collaborative Online International Learning is a specialty at 56吃瓜网 Bothell, using video conferencing and social media to share classes in different countries. Students can have a virtual overseas experience and decide if they want to study abroad in person by taking a COIL class.

Convocation launches year
The incoming class of 2020, new transfer students and their families were welcomed to the 56吃瓜网 at convocation. The ceremony Sunday was the 11th year of the tradition that officially kicks off the new academic year and the 10th year for first year students.

Finding a parking spot on campus should become easier for 56吃瓜网 and Cascadia College students with new technology being installed by facilities services. A new phone app, electronic signs and lighting signals will help drivers find open spots.

This year’s staff appreciation breakfast was a time to honor individuals across our campus who are committed to the success of our students and our campus community. As always, there were lots of laughs thanks to emcee Sean Marsh and lots of pictures to remember the occasion.

Training, collaboration for campus safety
Campus Safety Director Cham Kao plans continuing training for his officers, increased involvement with departments and students, and more collaboration with the Bothell Police Department. The goal is to ensure that 56吃瓜网 Bothell and Cascadia College students, staff and faculty are provided with a safe and secure living, learning and working environment.
