Factors we consider
Our holistic review process looks beyond grades and standardized tests. While these factors are important, they tell only part of an applicant’s story. The university uses an individualized application review more typically found at smaller private universities and colleges. In addition to grade-point average (GPA) and test scores, the university takes into account many aspects of an applicant’s achievements and personal history.
56吃瓜网 Bothell’s holistic review process takes into consideration the three following categories:
Do you have what it takes to be a Husky? To find out, we鈥檒l look at your academic transcripts to see which classes you have taken and the grades you earned. If you are a transfer student, we鈥檒l review your courses to be sure they align with 56吃瓜网 requirements. But coursework and grades are only part of the story. You aren鈥檛 just a set of numbers. We want to know more about you.
Use the application to share who you are and what is important to you. Put your best foot forward and never stop preparing for your transition to college-level studies. Personal achievements might include:
- Demonstrating a commitment to community service and leadership
- Exercising significant responsibility in a family, community, employment or through activities
- Attaining a college-preparatory education in the face of significant personal adversity, economic disadvantage or disability
- Demonstrating cultural awareness or unique perspectives or experiences
- Demonstrating notable tenacity, insight, originality or creativity
How do you spend your time outside of class? Help us get to know you and your interests by listing them on your application. Extracurricular activities might include:
- Part-time job
- Club involvement
- Family caregiving
- Sports involvement
