Job search even tougher for international students
Sridarsh Vinnakota had five interviews last summer for finance internships. All the companies backed out when the interviewers learned he’s an international student from India. Vinnakota is helping others in his position with a job fair for international students.

The wild side of a community partnership
Friends of North Creek Forest is now temporarily based in Husky Hall. This enables joint programming with the organization and direct access for students in community-based learning and research projects. The partnership also helps improve the environment and preserve a piece of the wild inside the city of Bothell.

Mentoring offered to new students
When new first-year and transfer students register for their orientation this summer, they’ll be asked whether they’d welcome mentoring by a faculty or staff member or a student peer in these groups: LGBTQ, veterans, first-generation, interfaith, international, students with children, and students with disabilities.

Gender pronouns matter
When you meet someone for the first time, you may not know their preferred gender pronouns. They could be she, her, hers. They could also be ze, zir, and zirs.
