QSC sharpens math, science skills

56³Ô¹ÏÍø Bothell students visit the Quantitative Skills Center nearly 13,000 times a year for help with mathematics, science and business classes. The QSC uses computer tracking and an electronic queue system in a comfortable environment. Online tutoring also is available.

In his keynote speech to the 56³Ô¹ÏÍø veterans reception, Army Capt. Aaron Thacker said his liberal studies degree in 1998 gave him critical thinking skills that have helped him in a career in public affairs and military police with deployments in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Conference focuses on near-vision testing

An early look at what some new near-vision screening tests could look like was presented Nov. 4 at a symposium at 56³Ô¹ÏÍø Bothell. Students are developing apps that may be used in eye exams to detect whether school children have problems that affect their ability to read.
