Monday morning finals postponed to Wednesday

A weekend windstorm caused a speed bump for some students driving toward spring break. Monday morning tests had to be postponed because of a power outage. The finals will be rescheduled for Wednesday. Students should check with professors for times.

56³Ô¹ÏÍø’s Office of Student Engagement and Activities won a national award for its work to support diversity and inclusion. The American College Personnel Association-College Student Educators International awarded the office the Voice of Inclusion team medallion for the IDEA project.

T-Mobile partners for $5,000 diversity grant

High school and college students in Washington could win a grant of up to $5,000 and mentoring from T-Mobile to complete a project aimed at solving a diversity issue. Students may apply by March 21 by posting a 3-to-5 minute video on the 56³Ô¹ÏÍø Bothell Facebook page. T-Mobile is partnering with the 56³Ô¹ÏÍø’s Diversity and Inclusion Conference.

Students compete in analyst competition

A team of three 56³Ô¹ÏÍø business students finished high in the annual competition organized by the Chartered Financial Analysts Society of Seattle. The competition with five other schools came down to three finalists. The 56³Ô¹ÏÍø team finished second, continuing a tradition of strong showings.

Seven faculty members from the School of Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences and about 20 56³Ô¹ÏÍø students, alumni and friends are leading an International Women’s Day celebration with a day-long public presentation of their work at the Northwest Film Forum in Seattle.

CROW student journal taking flight

A new peer-review journal for 56³Ô¹ÏÍø students called The CROW is about to take flight. The Campus Research and Observational Writings journal is a place to publish research papers and proposals, literature reviews and editorials. The final deadline for submissions is Tuesday, March 1, at publish@uw.edu
