The Master of Science in Community Health & Social Justice seeks a diverse student body that embodies a wide range of identities and experiences. A new cohort begins each fall quarter.
Fall 2025 Entry
Accepting applications for rolling admissions
We guarantee consideration of all complete applications submitted by July 1. The sooner you apply, the sooner you can receive an admissions decision.
Fall 2026 Entry
Applications open: October 1, 2025
Priority deadline: February 1, 2026
General deadline: May 1, 2026
Rolling admissions after May 1 is on a space-available basis.
Admission requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree or higher in any discipline from a regionally accredited institution in the United States or its equivalent from outside the U.S. Applicants may apply with their bachelor’s degree in progress.
- At least a 3.0 grade point average on a 4-point scale (or equivalent measures of performance if a graduate of an institution with no grading system) for those credits earned at the institution awarding the bachelor’s degree OR at least a 3.0 grade point average (on a 4 point scale) for the last 90 graded quarter credits or 60 graded semester credits. Applicants not meeting the GPA requirement may still apply and will be reviewed on a case-by-case in accordance with the .
- English language proficiency. Applicants whose native language is not English must demonstrate English proficiency ().
This program is not eligible to admit international students enrolling with an F1 or J1 student visa.

Statement of purpose
In your own words, please answer both of the following prompts. The answer to each prompt should be a maximum of 500 words. For reference when preparing to compose your statement of purpose, you can review the program’s definition of Social Justice, how community health and social justice are related, and how we promote the two with examples. Additionally, the program learning objectives are available for review.
- How do your past experiences (academic, professional, and/or personal) connect with our program learning objectives and emphasize your commitment to social justice and community health?
- Share a social justice perspective you bring or wish to learn from the program to help us understand you better; perhaps related to a community you belong to, your family, or your cultural background.
Application fee assistance
56³Ô¹ÏÍø Bothell Health Studies students and alumni are eligible to have the graduate application pre-paid as funding permits. Email the graduate program advisor prior to submitting the application to request the application be pre-paid. Reimbursement is not an option.
