Thanks to his international efforts, Ko has been selected as a 56³Ô¹ÏÍøB COIL Fellow for the 2020-2021 academic year. He joins Assistant Professor Meghan Eagan-Torkko and Senior Lecturer Maureen (Mo) West as COIL Fellows from Nursing & Health Studies. Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) is an approach to fostering global competence through development of a multicultural learning environment that links university classes in different countries. Using various communication technologies, students complete shared assignments and projects, with faculty members from each country co-teaching and managing coursework. 56³Ô¹ÏÍø Bothell’s COIL is based on and has benefitted from the resources based at its original school, the State University of New York (SUNY). Through this initiative, 56³Ô¹ÏÍø Bothell continues to deepen global engagement of students in the classroom, without requiring travel abroad, by implementing online collaboration with international partners.
