Team developing ulcer prevention

A team from 56³Ô¹ÏÍø that’s developing a device to measure ulcer-causing bacteria competed in the first Health Innovation Challenge held by the Buerk Center for Entrepreneurship at the Foster School of Business, University of Washington.

Seven faculty members from the School of Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences and about 20 56³Ô¹ÏÍø students, alumni and friends are leading an International Women’s Day celebration with a day-long public presentation of their work at the Northwest Film Forum in Seattle.

CROW student journal taking flight

A new peer-review journal for 56³Ô¹ÏÍø students called The CROW is about to take flight. The Campus Research and Observational Writings journal is a place to publish research papers and proposals, literature reviews and editorials. The final deadline for submissions is Tuesday, March 1, at publish@uw.edu

56³Ô¹ÏÍø Bothell leaders win engineering awards

Two 56³Ô¹ÏÍø leaders have been honored by the Puget Sound Engineering Council as top talents in the region. Elaine Scott, dean of the School of STEM, and Wendy Lawrence, a 56³Ô¹ÏÍø Bothell advisory board member, received their awards at a banquet at the Museum of Flight in Seattle on February 13. Scott was named 2016 Academic Engineer of the Year and veteran astronaut Lawrence was recognized for her many contributions to education.
